When I was asked to travel to King Island to film for Telstra, the only thing I knew about the place was that they had excellent cheese. I absolutely fell in love with the place. It's remote, rugged, beautiful, and a sea changers paradise. I found an island full of community spirit, amazing produce and stunning landscapes.

Mark the chef

Mark has probably the best restaurant view on King Island, overlooking the King Island Golf Course which sits right on the cliff overlooking the spectacular Bass Strait. The island is teaming with beautiful flora and fauna incorporated into their menu.

Jim the mayor

Jim is the Mayor of Kind Island and one of the most unassuming politicians you'll ever meet. He happily leaves his back door and cars unlocked, and can't wait to get back to the Island after visiting the mainland. A truly humble human being with a beautiful life on the sheep farm.

Steve, Telstra tech

Steve is the island's only Telstra technician, and responsible for keeping all of it's inhabitants connected to the mainland and the rest of the world.

Anna the cattle farmer

Anna's cattle farm has some of the most beautiful cows I've ever seen! They grazed on beautiful King Island pastures, and helped gained the island a reputation as having some of the best Angus steak in the world.
