From his basic studio in Tyabb, Victoria, German-born sculptor Rudi Jass makes unique kinetic wind sculptures, water features and steel artworks especially for the garden.
His work is boldly contemporary, with clean flowing lines and elegant forms that are inspired by movements in nature.
Jass doesn’t really consider himself a part of the art scene. “I try not to look at too many pieces because there’s always the risk that I’ll get influenced,” he says. “I think the art scene is made by other people, not by the artist.” Read full article
Instead, he draws his ideas from the natural world around him. Whether it’s the sun setting over Mount Martha as seen from his balcony at home, or a seed pod showing him a design concept for a new piece, Jass is always in dialogue with nature.
